• John Conrad

Pastor John Conrad was born within a family that has a long history of service to Christ and the Church.  He is a fourth generation pastor.  He has served in a variety of settings ranging from small to large congregations in different parts of the country.  With over 20 years of service as an ordained pastor, he looks forward to at least another 20!

He is married to his college sweetheart, Ellen.  They have four grown children.  Ellen is a school teacher.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Religion/Philosophy from Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kansas and a Master of Divinity Degree from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.

He has a passion for youth and family ministries.  Prior to entering seminary, he served for two years as a Director of Youth and Education of a church.  He also has a passion for international missions, having been involved in missions in El Salvador, Africa, Hong Kong and other parts of Southeast Asia.

For fun, Pastor John enjoys eating, family, hiking, movies, being outdoors and spending time with his best friend and wife, Ellen.

When asked “So what led you to become a pastor?” he often quotes what Jesus said in Luke 10; “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”  Although all may not be called to be a pastor, Pastor John emphasizes that all people have an important calling within God’s kingdom.

How do you think God might be calling you in your life today?

Until the first of August I was working at Sonshine Ark, splitting my day teaching in the morning and working along side Ms. Vickie in the afternoons. I've enjoyed being a member of the FLC/SSA family for the last four years.

Filling the shoes of Carla will be difficult, but I'm up for the challenge! Thank you for your warm welcome and positive attitude as I begin this  new venture. I appreciate it more than you know.

My name is Cindy Duppstadt. Most of you know me at Miss Cindy. I am going on my 5th year as the Nursery Coordinator here at First Lutheran. I was born and raised in San Antonio. Got married and moved to Floresville 27 years ago in the same month and I haven’t looked back. My husband Gregg and I are active Harley Davidson Riders. Our daughter, Kimberly is 24. She lives right behind us. I went to Concordia Lutheran School and was confirmed there, Gregg was also confirmed a Lutheran.

I currently work at FISD in the Redirect Unit. My specialty is working with children with special needs. I am very excited about working with the youth of Kindergarten through 5th grade, to bring together our members and their children in this age group by encouraging each other in Christ through fellowship and fun.
